My Alter Ego // The Bohemian Rhapsody

“I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango.”

Now, let’s get one thing straight, Bohemian is not necessarily the same thing as a hippie.
The original meaning of Bohemian is someone who lives in Bohemia (a part of Czech Republic). As you can tell, I do not live in Bohemia. HOWEVER, Bohemian is one of my favorite fashion styles.

Let me explain how my love affair with this style started. We need to go way back…
Back when I was in college, I decided to challenge myself to eat more vegetables. I went to an extreme and became a vegetarian {only for 3 years, though}. Yes, a no-bacon-eating vegetarian. Honestly, it was kind of a sad time…because there was no bacon. That’s a huge deal for me. I LOVE BACON! Ugh…I’m sorry. Bacon. Alright, I’m done. bacon. Last one I swear! ANYWAY…I did my research and I didn’t become a crazy PETA person but I became more mindful of clothing and what it was made of. I got ride of all my clothing that had animal fur and opted for the faux, man-made stuff.

The other reason I started getting into natural and “Bohemian” style clothing was due to an internship that I had in Dallas. I worked at the Dallas Market {if you don’t know what that is…I would have to write another post for that}, in the Johnny Was showroom. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I was blessed by receiving some {a lot} of their clothing. They’re such beautiful pieces. I am usually seen wearing them because of how light and comfortable they are {and how Bohemian they look}.

Ahh…natural and light. This is kind of where I feel most like me. Bohemian chic is my happy place.
“Any way the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to me.”
