Things I am Thankful For…This Week

Instead of worrying my mind with negativity that so plagues this world, I shall fill my mind with the good things that I am ever so thankful for.

Our lives our busy, yes? But, that doesn’t mean that we don’t have plenty to be thankful for.

You might have noticed by now, I am a “list girl.” So, here are the things that I am thankful for this week:

1] Juicing: My first juicing experience was a monumental success! I will admit, juicing is not for the faint of heart, but you can make some truly delicious juices with tremendously healthy fruits and vegetables. My first juice was called a Green Goodness. This was a juice for beginners and a “Pinterest Win.” I am happy that it made 3 servings. So, I will have breakfast AND lunch for tomorrow. It also tastes AMAZING. It is a bit sweet and slightly tart. If you are interested in juicing, I would suggest you start of with this one! It called for:
8 large kale leaves
2 cups spinach
12 strawberries
1 lemon (half a lemon, if you can’t stand it that tart)
2 apples
a handful of mint

2] My family taking care of sick Mary-Liz: Oh, what a blessing it is to live near {or right above} nurse momma. My family has been so wonderful this week in trying to get me back to 100%. My mother has been giving me all the right medicines, my husband brought me cough drops and Nyquil {a gift from heaven}, and my daddy has made sure that I have been eating well this week. There’s nothing like the princess treatment. And, with that I am thankful for my family.

3] Downton Abbey: I’m kind of angry nobody told me about this show sooner. It took moving to Augusta for me to discover this. It’s only been like 5 days and we are already on Season 2 {sorry, not sorry}. What a great trip back in time. I’m not a huge history buff, but it is so interesting to see turn of the century clothing, women’s rights issues, and wars all take place in a show. If you have not seen this show, YOU MUST! I cannot wait to catch up.

4] Abigail McKinley: Yes, that’s right. I am so very thankful for my sister-in-love {sister-in-law}. She turns 30 on Saturday! I am so grateful for her life and the blessing she is to our family. She is a such a lovely person, she loves my brother unconditionally, has a beautiful heart for the Lord, and is an unbelievable mother to three crazy, wonderful kids. Happy Birthday, Abigail!

5] My job: I am so excited about this one. I am so very thankful for my job. At the beginning of December, I began a temporary position as the Administrative Assistant {or Secretary} in the Facilities Management department at Warren Baptist Church. In other words, I had zero idea what I was getting myself into. I have never been a secretary, nor have I really done maintenance things. The good thing was, this was only temporary {or so I thought}. Come January, I was planning on a change of departments. Well, the Lord laughed at my plans, and had something else for me. I was to stay right where I was. So, I am officially the Administrative Assistant in Facilities Management. I love my position, and I love not wearing a costume anymore.
